Tender and airy kefir buns in the oven are well suited for stuffing with various fillings. This recipe can also be used to make hot dogs or burger buns. Our recipe for kefir buns in the oven is prepared simply and with a small amount of ingredients. Delight your family with delicious homemade baked goods!
In a deep bowl, mix warm kefir, dry yeast, granulated sugar and 45 grams of sifted wheat flour. Cover the bowl with cling film and leave the dough base on the counter for 15 minutes. This way we will check the quality of the yeast and its performance. If bubbles appear, it means the yeast is working.
We continue to prepare the dough - add sunflower oil, salt and soda to the base.
Mix the ingredients well to form a smooth dough.
Next, add 150 grams of sifted wheat flour and mix the dough with a spoon. It should turn out sticky and viscous.
Sift another 100 grams of flour onto the table and spread the resulting dough on it. We begin to mix the flour into the dough, bringing the edges towards the center. Adjust the thickness so that the dough remains slightly sticky and soft. The main thing is not to add a large amount of flour! This way we will get fluffy kefir buns in the oven, like fluff.
Add another half tablespoon of sunflower oil and knead the dough a little more. Grease the walls of the bowl with oil, place the dough in it and leave under the film in a warm place for 1 - 1.5 hours. It should approximately double in size.
After the dough has risen, place it on a floured surface.
Divide it into two parts - we will get two buns.
Take one part and roll it out evenly into a rectangle shape.
Now we fold each long edge and press it well with our fingers or the side of our palm to the base.
Once again we turn up each side, they should stand almost end-to-end.
Next, we connect the two sides and mold them like a pie. Such sides help to form an even and beautiful bun.
Turn the product over with the seam down and slightly adjust the shape if necessary.
We do the same with the second part of the test. Place the formed products on parchment paper on a baking sheet, seam side down, and cover with film. Let them sit for 15 minutes. Then place the baking sheet in an oven preheated to 180℃ in the top-bottom mode on the middle level.
The buns can be taken out when they have acquired a golden hue.
Our kefir buns in the oven with yeast are ready! They turned out soft and fluffy.
Enjoy your meal!
