A simple and quick version of homemade baking that can be prepared for a family lunch or a festive dinner. Liver puff pastries will be an original appetizer for your guests. When you have a pack of ready-made puff pastry in the refrigerator, be sure to use it to prepare delicious and hearty puff pastry. You can come up with a variety of fillings. Chicken liver is a universal product for this. In addition to liver, add carrots and onions to the filling; with vegetables it will be juicier and tastier. If you have all the necessary components, the liver puff pastries will be ready in 25-30 minutes.
Defrost the puff pastry in advance, for the recipe it should be chilled. Meanwhile, prepare the filling. Rinse the chicken liver, clean it from veins and films. Cut the offal into medium pieces, put it in a frying pan with heated oil. Fry it for 3-4 minutes, stirring.
While the liver is frying, peel all the necessary vegetables and chop them. Chop the onion into cubes, and it is better to grate the carrots - this way they will fry faster.
When the liver is lightly fried, add all the vegetables to the pan.
Mix the chicken liver with the vegetables, add spices to taste and fry everything together for another 2-3 minutes. Let the finished filling cool down for a while.
Then put the fried liver and vegetables through a meat grinder – the filling for the puff pastry is ready.
Divide the dough into medium rectangles, roll each piece thinly. Put 1-2 tbsp of liver filling on half of the dough, and make several cuts with a knife on the free edge, not reaching the edges.
Cover the filling with the free edge of the dough and pinch all the edges well. Seal all the puff pastries in the same way.
Place the blanks on a baking sheet, brush each one with egg yolk (mixed with 1 teaspoon of water) and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Bake the puff pastries in a preheated oven for 15-18 minutes at 180-190℃ until the puff pastries are browned and golden.
