Today we will get acquainted with a traditional Italian dish – classic Bolognese sauce. The dish goes well with pasta. Or used as a pizza topping. The sauce combines the taste of meat, vegetables and spices, combining flavors into a harmonious symphony. Proper braising technique brings all the ingredients together. This makes its taste unique.
To prepare a classic Bolognese sauce recipe at home, let's prepare the vegetables. Chop the onion into small cubes, and grate the carrots on a grater with large holes. Place the vegetables in a frying pan with heated oil.
Sauté the onions and carrots over medium heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. At the end, add minced meat to the vegetables. Break up any lumps of minced meat with a fork or spatula until the sauce is smooth.
Add some salt to the sauce, add pepper and fry the minced meat for about 3-5 minutes over medium heat until lightly browned. Then add tomato paste and grated peeled tomato into the pan. Mix everything, cover with a lid and simmer over low heat for 1 hour.
Periodically lift the lid and stir the sauce. Make sure it doesn't burn. If the liquid has evaporated, add a little water or meat broth.
At the end, add chopped garlic and stir the sauce. At this stage, you can add herbs to taste.
