Here is a simple dish for lunch and dinner – a classic potato casserole with minced meat. Both kids and adults will love this delicate puree-based dish. We suggest you add this recipe to your collection of favorite dishes. Let’s start cooking right now!
Prepare ingredients for potato casserole with minced meat in a classic oven. Peel and wash the potatoes, then cut into large pieces. The pieces should be the same size so that the potatoes cook at the same time. Put them in boiling salted water and cook over medium heat under a lid. Use a knife to determine if the potatoes are ready.
Drain the water and add half of the butter to the potatoes, add salt to taste. Mash the potatoes into a puree and leave until cool.
Now let's move on to preparing the filling. To do this, chop the peeled onion and fry it in a piece of butter for 2-3 minutes. Don't forget to stir the onion so that it doesn't burn.
Transfer the mince to the frying pan as soon as the onion is browned. Fry the meat filling at medium temperature for about 8-10 minutes. Add salt, ground black pepper to the mince and stir occasionally. And after it is ready, remove the filling from the heat.
Add the egg to the room temperature puree and mix well with a fork. Transfer half of the potatoes to a baking dish, having previously greased its bottom and sides with butter. Spread the puree evenly over the dish, leveling it with a spoon.
Place all the meat filling on top. Again, level it into an even layer.
The last layer is the remaining puree. Grease the surface with soft butter. Finally, put the form in the oven for 20-25 minutes, preheated to 200℃.
Our recipe for classic potato casserole with minced meat is ready. Take it out of the oven and cool it slightly. Before serving it should be warm, so the dish holds its shape better. It's time to divide the casserole into portions and serve for lunch or dinner.
Enjoy your meal!
