We start a simple recipe for apple jam for the winter by preparing the fruit. Wash the apples and then remove the cores. You can use either a special tool or a regular knife. Cut the fruit into quarters and then into slices. Transfer the slices directly into the pan where the jam will be prepared.
Add sugar to apples and mix. The amount of sugar should be equal to the weight of apples. Keep in mind that after removing the cores, the weight of the apples will decrease slightly.
Leave the apples for 5-6 hours so that they release their juice. Try to stir the fruit as little as possible.
Place the pan on low heat. Cook the apples for about 2 hours. Then turn off the heat and let the jam sit for 8 hours.
Bring the apples to a boil again, add lemon juice and continue cooking apple jam for the winter at home for another 2 hours. Remove the pan from the heat again for 8 hours. We do this step 2 more times.
