Surely you remember homemade toffee, the taste of which brings back childhood memories. Such a delicacy can be prepared within the walls of your kitchen. These candies are sold in any store. But it is much more interesting to become a home confectioner for a while and repeat delicious homemade toffees. Let’s try to do it together?
We prepare toffee at home - in a small saucepan, combine sour cream with sugar. For this dessert, it is better to choose sour cream with a fat content of at least 20% percent, so that the candies turn out to be of ideal density.
Place the pan on low heat and begin to boil the sour cream, constantly stirring the sweet base. Its color will gradually change from white to delicate caramel. After 20 minutes, the sour cream will begin to thicken.
To make a homemade toffee recipe, do not overcook the mixture on the fire. The base for candies, which was boiled for more than an hour, turns out dense. Therefore, the optimal time is about 40 minutes. To check the readiness of the dessert, drop the mixture into cold water. If the drop hardens, then it is ready.
Towards the end of cooking, add butter to the saucepan. Stir the mixture and leave on low heat for another 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly.
When the mass is ready, you can start forming the candies themselves. You can use silicone ice molds for this. If there are no special molds, then pour the mass into regular containers, previously greased with butter.
Place the molds in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours. Now that the candies have hardened, they can be easily removed from the mold. And if you poured the mass into plastic containers, then simply cut it into squares.
