Everyone ate the so-called salad with crab meat, and for many it is associated with childhood and family holidays. There are many variations of such a salad – someone likes to add rice to it, others prefer fresh cucumbers. But crab sticks are an invariable ingredient! Fragrant, with a beautiful red tint, they cause appetite and incredible pleasure.
But not everyone knows that crab sticks do not contain crab meat, contrary to the name, but only its color and taste. The product contains ground meat of surimi – white fish from the Pacific Ocean, such as pollock, hake, blue whiting. Real crab meat is much more expensive than sticks that are familiar to us. But it’s worth a try! Juicy, incredibly fragrant, it will make you eat more than one serving of salad with crab meat!
You can add more meat if you want a richer flavor. We added crab as an accent.
Rinse the rice groats about 5-6 times until the water runs clear. Pour rice in a ratio of 1:4 (rice:water), put on the stove over medium heat, salt to taste. So that the rice does not boil and retain its texture, it should be cooked for about 10-15 minutes after boiling, depending on your taste preferences. Don't forget to stir occasionally while cooking! After cooking, drain the water and transfer to a container.
Fill the eggs with water, put on a high fire. When the water boils, you should set the average temperature and cook for 8 - 10 minutes. When the timer ends, remove the pan from the stove and pour the finished eggs with cold water. We wait until it cools completely, if the water in the pan warms up, fill it with cold water again. This is necessary so that the shell easily moves away from the eggs when cleaning.
We have already cleaned crab phalanges, the only thing left to do is to clean them from thin chitinous strips. We cut the meat into small cubes.
Next, cut the eggs into cubes.
Put the boiled rice in a salad bowl.
For rice, we send chopped eggs to a salad bowl.
Next, put the chopped crab meat.
Canned corn is sent to the salad bowl last.
Pour the salad with mayonnaise, salt and pepper to taste, mix gently.
We lay out the finished salad in your favorite format, decorate with lettuce, parsley and dill. Real crab salad is ready!
