Olivier salad will be a popular appetizer at any time of the year; you can prepare it for a holiday, party or family dinner. The meat component can always be different. The taste of the dish as a whole depends on this. “Olivier” can be prepared with meat, tongue, seafood, sausage, chicken or ham. Today we’ll take ham. It is tasty, affordable and very aromatic, the salad will be original. The vegetable set is often standard and does not change. These are potatoes, carrots, canned peas and pickles. Also, don’t forget to boil your eggs in advance. Any mayonnaise is suitable for dressing. You can buy it at the store or prepare it at home in your kitchen if time permits. “Olivier” with ham is not a frequent guest on the holiday table, so surprise your guests with a pleasant surprise.
Cut the juicy, aromatic ham into small cubes and pour into a deep container where you will collect the salad. It is convenient to use for any salads. It is ready to eat and there is no need to cook anything, unlike meat.
Peel pre-boiled chicken eggs and cut into small cubes. Add them to the ham. You can boil the eggs the evening before the holiday. Cook them in boiling water for 9-10 minutes.
Also boil the potatoes and carrots until soft in advance. Cook well-washed vegetables in their skins for about 20-25 minutes in boiling water. Then cool completely and peel them. Cut the potatoes and carrots into small cubes and add to the salad with other ingredients.
Also add diced pickles and canned green peas to the Olivier salad with ham. Try the peas before adding them, they should be soft and certainly tasty.
Season everything with mayonnaise, salt and pepper to taste. Stir and adjust to desired taste. If necessary, add a little more mayonnaise for juiciness. Some people like to combine mayonnaise with sour cream, but this is up to your taste.
Our recipe for Olivier with ham is ready! Serve it for a festive feast. You can present the dish in a large common salad bowl or in portioned dishes.
