This tender, tasty and filling layer cake stuffed with meat and mushrooms is surprisingly easy to make. Especially if you prepare some ingredients in advance. Wash, cut and fry the mushrooms, marinate the meat, knead (or buy ready-made) puff pastry. You and your family will love the delicious result. This dish has only one, but a big drawback – it is eaten quickly. The pie is incredibly tasty even when cold.
First of all, we cut the chicken breast into small elongated sticks and send the meat to marinate, mixing it well with salt, pepper and seasonings. As the latter, you can use Italian herbs, Caucasian spices, suneli hops, paprika or curry - everything that you love and that, in your opinion, gives the meat piquancy and unsurpassed taste.
While the chicken fillet is languishing in a nervous expectation of a further fate, let's deal with mushrooms. They should be thoroughly washed, cut into halves and chopped.
We clean the onion, send it for washing and cut into small slices.
We send chopped mushrooms to a preheated pan with a scanty amount of vegetable oil and fry until all the liquid contained in them has evaporated.
As soon as the juice has disappeared, and the mushrooms have begun to turn golden, add finely chopped onions to them and continue to fry the mushrooms along with the onions until fully cooked.
It's time for the meat. During the ritual with mushrooms, it managed to soak in spices and it can not wait to get into the pan. Fry the meat over high heat and carefully monitor the cooking time. Chicken breast has an important feature - being overcooked / overcooked, it turns into hard rubber, and if you do not miss the moment of readiness, the meat will turn out juicy and melt in your mouth. 5-7 minutes of frying will be enough: even if the fillet pieces remain slightly raw inside, they are guaranteed to reach the state of readiness in the oven.
Now that the mushrooms and meat are ready, it's time to tackle the final, most important layer of the pie. To do this, grate the cheese (it doesn’t matter if it’s small or large - it still has to melt).
Chop up the greens.
Pour the cream into a large bowl, beat in the eggs, pour in the grated cheese and mix it all thoroughly.
Add greens to the resulting mass and mix all the ingredients again.
The preparation of the pie is close to completion, which means it's time for the test. Roll out a not too thin layer - so that it "fits" into the container intended for it and at the same time there are sides on the sides around the entire perimeter. Spread the dough inside a baking dish, previously greased with a thin layer of oil. Do not worry too much about the beauty and evenness of the sides - they are more functional than aesthetic.
Lay the fried meat as the bottom layer.
The next layer of filling is mushrooms with onions - distribute them evenly over the meat.
The final layer consists of a creamy cheese filling: when it takes its place, lower the edges of the sides and pinch the corners.
We send our miracle to an oven preheated to 190-200 degrees and leave the kitchen for the next 30-40 minutes to avoid the temptation to look inside every minute. The readiness of the pie is determined by the degree of browning of the sides and cheese mass.
We cut the finished pie into portioned pieces and convene the longing household members to the table.
Enjoy your meal!
