This recipe will delight lovers of the classic combination of meat and potatoes. The dish is prepared quite quickly, without the use of rare ingredients. And even gourmets will appreciate the result. Meat with potatoes, complemented with tomatoes and mushrooms, is very satisfying. This dish can feed a large company well.
Although chicken fillet is ideal meat for cooking in the oven, the result of baking of which is always predictable, but it doesn’t hurt to “rest” a little in mayonnaise with spices. Therefore, we will begin the workflow with it. Cut the fillet into long slices, add pepper and salt, sprinkle generously with spices (in this case, an “explosive mixture” of Italian herbs, curry and Caucasian seasonings was used). Complete the composition with mayonnaise and take on the potatoes.
We clean the potatoes, wash and cut into circles about 0.7 cm thick. A small nuance: if you use a long-boiled potato variety, boil it first in a saucepan for 5-7 minutes.
Mushrooms should not be cut too finely so that the mushroom flavor is well felt. If the mushrooms are small, cut them into quarters, if large - into eight pieces.
Cut the tomatoes into slices and sprinkle them with spices.

Now let's start the installation process. Lightly grease the bottom of the baking dish with vegetable oil and lay slightly boiled (or raw) potatoes.
Spread the meat over the potatoes in a thick layer.
We cover the meat layer with mushroom. Do not forget to add salt to those products that need it.
Lay the tomatoes tightly, leaving no gaps. They will make the dish more juicy and give a little sourness.
The final layer is grated cheese.
The optimum temperature for baking meat with potatoes is 180-200 degrees. Send your dishes to the oven and keep yourself busy for the next half hour to forty minutes to avoid the temptation to constantly open the door and check the contents. Approximately this is the time it will take for your baked cheese roast to cook.
Do not rush to cut into portions and serve a dish barely pulled out of the oven. Let the juice released from the mushrooms and tomatoes thoroughly soak the potatoes with meat. And after a quarter of an hour you can set the table and please yourself and your guests.
